ZEBRA ZD421: Versatile Label Printer Offers Many Application Possibilities
The ZD421 label printer by Zebra provide a flexible solution for various everyday printing tasks. It prints barcodes, text and graphics onto a large variety of media types, for example, roll-fed or fanfold material, die-cut or continuous media with or without black mark, tag stock, continuous receipt paper and wristbands. The printer comes with a resolution of 203 dpi as standard and 300 dpi as option. Depending on the application, the printer is available as direct thermal or thermal transfer version.
The clamshell design of the ZD421 desktop printer allows easy access to the inside of the device and facilitates ribbon and media change. Color-coded marks guide the way and enable easy media and ribbon loading. There is also a printer version available which enables the use of ribbon cartridges for even simpler ribbon replacement. Each cartridge contains a smart chip to timely inform the user before the ribbon ends.
Zebra’s ZD421 label printer was designed for intuitive use. 5 LED icons and 3 buttons provide clear printer status information and enable simple operation.
With Zebra’s Link-OS operating system, 512 MB Flash and 256 SDRAM memory, the ZD421 printer is able to quickly and reliably process print jobs. The included Print DNA software suite provides tools for easy integration and setup as well as smooth operation and enhanced security. It enables PDF direct printing. The “Printer Profile Manager Enterprise” tool enables remote management and control of one or many printers. It also offers troubleshooting options. With the Print DNA “Virtual Devices” tool, it is possible to emulate multiple printer languages. Another Print DNA application is “PrintSecure”, ensuring secure connections, providing protection against cyberattacks and preventing unauthorized access. Print DNA also enables Managed Print Services (MPS).
The Zebra ZD421 label printer is equipped with USB and USB Host. Additionally, multiple connectivity options are available: Ethernet, WLAN + Bluetooth, serial RS-232. The Bluetooth option also enables easy device setup via mobile app for Android and iOS.
If high flexibility is required, the ZD421 printer can be equipped with a high-capacity battery to enable mobile on-site printing. The powerful battery supports a whole shift. With the ZKDU accessory, it is possible to use the printer as standalone device.
