ZEBRA RS5100: Robust Bluetooth Ring Scanner for Demanding Applications

The Zebra RS5100 ring scanner is suitable for versatile applications due to its light weight and flat design. Bluetooth class 1 ensures a long radio range of over 90 m for optimal mobility. The ring scanner can easily be paired with other Bluetooth-enabled devices, for example with mobile computers, by means of NFC (tap-to-pair). Movement is not obstructed by cables or a clumsy device. Simple point-and-shoot scanning ensures uncomplicated use of the RS5100 barcode reader. A large field of view enables the capture of large codes and allows more flexible scan distances. LED light indicators guide the user to find the optimal scan position. After a successful scan, the user receives visual and acoustic good-read confirmation. Additionally, a vibration feedback is ideal for the use in noisy environments.

All common 1D and 2D barcodes can be captured with the RS5100 wearable scanner. Zebra’s PRZM Intelligent Imaging Platform optimizes barcode scanning performance. Fast, first-time barcode reading of codes in any condition ensures correct data capture and enhanced procedures. The RS5100 ring scanner can be equipped with either the SE4710 or the SE4770 scan engine. Both standard range scanners come with a megapixel sensor and can capture barcodes at a distance of up to 60 m. The SE4710 scan engine is equipped with an LED aimer, suitable for environments, where the use of laser technology is not permitted. To ensure optimal convenience, the ring scanner RS5100 by Zebra can be attached to a finger or hand strap or to a lanyard. There are various trigger options available to suit the user and the task at hand. The single-sided trigger is adjustable for right- or left-hand use. It is possible to wear it over a glove. With the double-sided trigger, the device can be switched quickly between the left and right hand. A built-in top trigger allows the user to wear the scanner at the side of the finger.
