ZEBRA RFD40: Three RFID Reader Models for Enhanced Data Acquisition
More speed: The Zebra RFD40 RFID readers are able to collect as many as 1,300 tags per second within a read range of over 6 m.
Easy to use: With the new eConnex 8-pin connector, the three RFD40 RFID sleds connect to eConnex-enabled Zebra mobile computers, for example the TC21/TC26, the EC50/EC55 and the TC52ax. By means of sled adapters, they can easily be attached and removed. The Premium and Premium Plus models are also compatible with OtterBox uniVERSE adapters and enable the connection to third party Android or iOS devices via Bluetooth. Because of the ergonomic pistol grip shape, the RFID readers can be operated conveniently. The trigger enables RFID reading as well as barcode scanning (Premium Plus model only) and can be assigned an additional customized function.
Applications: Choose the RFD40 sleds according to requirements. The RFID readers suit retail and warehousing as well as hospitality and healthcare applications. Very handy is the item finder mode, which enables fast and easy localization e. g. of articles in a warehouse.
Storage: In batch mode the RFID readers are able to store up to 40,000 tags. Later, collected data can be transferred to a mobile computer or a PC.
Connection to computer: By means of a USB-C cable, it is possible to connect the RFD40 sleds to a host computer running a Windows operating system. “123RFID Desktop” is a Windows utility tool that enables easy setup and optimization. For configuration, simply use RFD40 Software Development Kits (SDKs). There is no need for an application rewrite.
Power: The RFD40 RFID readers are equipped with a strong battery. With the quick-release catch, it can be removed fast and easily while the mobile computer is attached. Zebra also presents new and innovative charging solutions. Various cradles and charging stations are available. For example, a multi-slot cradle with four spare battery and three device slots, where either only mobile computers can be charged or sled and mobile computer attached together.
Premium and Premium Plus: The models Premium and Premium Plus come with wireless connectivity. They are equipped with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC for the tap-to-pair function. The RFD40 Premium Plus version also enables barcode reading. An SE4100 scan engine provides 1D and 2D capturing capabilities. It captures barcodes in any condition fast and accurately.
High durability: Made for busy everyday workflows, the RFD40 RFID readers can withstand drops from a height of 1.5 m to concrete. They are sealed against water and dust complying with protection class IP54 and can be operated within a temperature range from -10 °C to +50 °C.
