ZEBRA DS9300 SERIES: Presentation Scanner Series with Sophisticated Functionality and a Tiny Footprint

The Zebra DS9300 series’ barcode scanners nearly take up no space at all, which makes the devices an ideal choice for confined work areas. Despite their small form factor, the presentation scanners of the DS9300 series by Zebra come with abundant useful features for improved efficiency and optimized customer service. The barcode scanners are able to capture all sorts of codes, such as common 1D and 2D barcodes as well as DotCode, DataMatrix and even Digimarc codes. Neither particularly small or high-density codes nor barcodes of poor quality present a problem for the DS9300 series’ scanners. Thanks to a high-resolution sensor and Zebra’s PRZM Intelligent Imaging technology, barcodes in any condition can be captured accurately right at the first time. Fast swipe speeds of up to 305 cm per second for moving barcodes also contribute to a productive workflow. The sleek barcode readers are ideally suited for retail environments, as they support Electronic Article Surveillance (Checkpoint EAS). EAS tags are deactivated while scanning the article.

For uncomplicated set-up and operation, the presentation scanners of the DS9300 series by Zebra are pre-configured and are equipped with Zebra’s DataCapture DNA. This extensive software suite includes multiple productivity, management, visibility and development tools for an enhanced performance of the smart data acquisition devices. Software Development Kits (SDKs) are available for Linux and Microsoft.

There are two mounting options available for the handy barcode scanners of the Zebra DS9300 series. Besides presentation scanning, the multi-mount bracket also enables handheld use. The locking-mount bracket is for presentation scanning only and ideal for customer-facing applications. Perfect convenience is achieved with a large field of view for quick data acquisition, as there is no need to fiddle around with an item to find the right angle to capture the barcode. The scanners can be tilted between 15° and 45° to optimally suit the operator. With the DS9300 series’ barcode scanners it is possible to capture multiple barcodes simultaneously by means of Multi-Code Data Formatting (MDF) and transmit only the required information. On the other hand, one particular barcode can also be singled out and captured without covering nearby codes. By means of Intelligent Document Capture, it is possible to generate an electronic image of small format documents (max. A6) and export them as bitmap, JPEG or TIFF file. After a successful scan, the user receives a visible and audible feedback. The eye-friendly illumination adapts to the environment and dims automatically when the scanner is not in use.

The barcode readers of the Zebra DS9300 series are resistant against spills and the ingress of dust in accordance with protection class IP52. They can withstand drops from a height of 1.5 m. Cables and power supplies are backward compatible with the Zebra DS9208 series. The DS9300 series’ barcode readers are available in the colors Alpine White and Midnight Black.
