NEWLAND N7 CACHALOT PRO II: Ergonomic Handheld for Warehousing, Logistics and Manufacturing
Unlike most handhelds currently on the market, the Newland N7 Cachalot Pro II has a physical keyboard—a useful feature for certain workflows. There are 3 keyboard layouts to choose from: 29, 38 or 47 keys. The 4-inch touch display can be operated with fingers or working gloves. Because of its narrowed shape toward the bottom, the mobile computer is comfortable to handle. There are scan keys on both sides of the device.
For efficient barcode capture, the N7 Cachalot Pro II is equipped with a scan engine which can be chosen according to requirements. The “Duo Near & Far” technology combines the medium and standard range in one scanner. Depending on the barcode, it enables scan distances between 20 cm and 980 cm. Optionally, the device is also available with a standard range scan engine which is suitable for barcode capture at close range. With Newland’s Acuscan technology, bar codes and QR codes can be accurately selected and captured from a pick list.
The N7 Cachalot Pro II handheld computer is equipped with a 2 GHz octa-core processor and provides 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. With a MicroSD card, storage capacity can be expanded by up to 128 GB. The terminal runs the operating system Android 11 which is upgradeable. The N7 Cachalot Pro II is compatible with MDM software solutions from SOTI and VMware as well as with TE solutions from StayLinked and Ivanti.
Wireless connectivity options are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and 4G (optional). The mobile computer is equipped with a 13-megapixel camera.
Because of its robust hardware, the Newland N7 Cachalot Pro II is suitable for challenging environmental conditions. It can withstand drops from a height of 1.8 m and is protected against the ingress of dust and water in accordance with protection class IP65. The operating temperature range is between -20 °C and +55 °C.
The N7 Cachalot Pro II data terminal is equipped with a powerful battery that can be used continuously for up to 15 hours. It is possible to change the battery while the device is running (hot-swap).
