KEYENCE BT-A700: Ergonomic Handheld Offering Excellent Scan Performance

High-level data capture: The versatile PDT BT-A700 from KEYENCE comes with a high-performance scan engine. Thanks to a special digital signal processor, barcodes can be captured in rapid succession without delay. The scanner is also universally applicable due to its large reading range. Whether in retail, where barcodes are often captured at close range, or in large warehouses, where long-distance data capture is required, the BT-A700 mobile computer offers maximum flexibility with ranges between 2.5 cm and 10 m. The BT-A700 enables omnidirectional barcode reading. Even codes of poor quality or behind foil can be captured reliably. If required, the barcode scanner can also be used with optical character recognition (OCR) (license required). In addition, the BT-A700 is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera for taking photos.

Ready for real-world applications: The shape and design of the BT-A700 is intended for work processes that require high efficiency. Its ergonomically angled handle allows comfortable barcode acquisition. There is a finger rest on the handle to prevent the device from accidentally dropping down. The function keys are positioned to allow comfortable one-hand operation. The easy-to-read, 5-inch display with touch function also contributes to convenient handling of the mobile computer.

Data processing and wireless connectivity: The portable data acquisition device BT-A700 is equipped with a Qualcomm octa-core processor and offers 3 GB RAM and 16 GB ROM. The storage capacity can be expanded via microSD card. The PDT runs the Android 11 operating system. Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac) and Bluetooth 5.0 enable wireless connections. A useful software tool for uncomplicated management of one or several devices is available (license required). It allows central monitoring, remote access for updates or for troubleshooting, and enables finding misplaced devices. In addition, KEYENCE provides a dedicated browser for enterprise applications which enables, for example, work-related access restrictions.

Meeting the challenges of different work processes: The BT-A700 data terminal features high drop resistance. Its design includes a metal frame and shock-absorbing elements. Therefore, the robust is resistant to drops from a height of up to 1.8 m. With an additional protective frame (accessory), it can even withstand drops from a height of 2.4 m. Gorilla glass protects the display from mechanical damage. The operating temperature range is between -20 °C and +50 °C. The mobile computer is sealed against dust and water ingress according to protection class IP67.

Powerful battery: The user-replaceable battery unit allows up to 32 hours of operation. The battery can be changed while the computer is running.
