HONEYWELL 8690i: Small but Powerful Wearable 3-in-1 Order Picking Solution
The Honeywell 8690i wearable minicomputer is equipped with an industrial-grade RFID reader. It complies with EPC Global Class 1 Gen2/ISO 18000-6C standards. The compact wearable device can either be worn with a 2-finger ring, available for left-hand or right-hand use, or mounted on a glove. The wearable design of the Honeywell 8690i enables freedom of movement and hands-free operations. By means of the RFID reader, the user can identify the required articles and easily find their location. Order picking tasks can be fulfilled with high efficiency. The integrated antenna has a linear polarization and enables a reading range of 60 cm. If the Honeywell 8690i RFID reader is used with a glove, it is equipped with a secondary antenna allowing a reading range of up to 1 m.
Additionally, the Honeywell 8690i mobile data collection device comes with an effective area imager for 1D and 2D barcodes. It provides a high motion tolerance of up to 584 cm per second. With powerful RFID and barcode collection capabilities, the tiny mobile computer 8690i by Honeywell is just the right tool for enhanced order picking workflows.
A color display provides the user with necessary instructions. It is located at the rear side of the 8690i minicomputer and is, therefore, directly in the picker’s line of vision for optimal operation convenience. The two-button user interface also contributes to its user-friendliness.
The small mobile computer Honeywell 8690i is equipped with Bluetooth 5.0. It can be easily paired with other Bluetooth-enabled devices by means of NFC. As option, the 8690i is available with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and fast roaming. The TotalFreedom SDK provides tools for application development according to individual business needs.
Tough warehouse environments and fast workflows require robust equipment. The 8690i RFID and barcode reader can withstand drops from a height of 1.5 m. It can be operated within a temperature range from -20 °C to +50 °C. To prevent the ingress of dust and water, it is sealed in accordance with protection class IP54.
The Honeywell 8690i minicomputer provides battery hot-swap capability. There are 4- or 12-bay chargers available.
