DATALOGIC SKORPIO X5: No Compromise

The Skorpio X5 mobile terminal by Datalogic provides a lightweight, well-balanced design for comfortable all-day use. It comes with a fast and energy-efficient processing unit and is ready for complex business applications. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 is a high-performance octa-core processor with a 2.2 GHz clock rate. It is either available with 3 GB RAM/32 GB Flash or with 4 GB RAM/64 GB Flash. The terminal has a MicroSD card slot for storage extension by up to 256 GB.

The Android-based mobile computer is rated Android Enterprise Recommended (AER). The Skorpio X5 runs the latest Android version 10 and supports up to 2 OS upgrades. Together with GMS, the Android 10 operating system provides a reliable and user-friendly experience and ensures high security. Android Zero Touch is supported.

In most working environments, the use of digital data collection has improved the efficiency of processes considerably. The Datalogic Skorpio X5 terminal can be equipped with 4 scan engine options. The linear scan engine enables the capture of 1D barcodes with a scan range between 4 and 74 cm (13 mil/EAN). The standard-range imager is ideal for 1D and 2D barcodes at reading distances between 4.5 and 74 cm (13 mil/EAN). The mid-range imager allows a reading range of up to 160 cm, depending on the barcode. It also reads linear and QR codes. The portable data terminal Skorpio X5 can also be equipped with the new extra-long-range scanner, which excels in scan speed. 1D and 2D barcodes from a distance of up to 20 m can be captured with the new XLR scan engine. It enables near-field and long-distance barcode scanning and ensures an extremely flexible use. Additionally, Datalogic’s Skorpio X5 handheld comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera.

For convenient application, the PDA Skorpio X5 by Datalogic has a large 4.3-inch display. Because of its high brightness, it is perfectly viewable indoors or out. The capacitive multi-touch screen excels at fast recognition and response. It can be operated with fingers, gloves and stylus. Additionally, the Skorpio 5X is equipped with a backlit keypad. Three keypad options are available: 47-key alphanumeric, 38-key function numeric, 28 numeric.

Dependable wireless connectivity is indispensable in today’s working world. The Datalogic Skorpio X5 handheld terminal comes with latest 2 x 2 MU-MIMO WLAN, Bluetooth 5.0 Class 2 and NFC. For uncomplicated integration, the Skorpio X5 is compatible with all major MDM applications, such as SOTI MobiControl, VMware Workspace ONE (formerly AirWatch), Ivanti Avalanche, 42Gears SureMDM and Microsoft Intune. Multiple SDKs are included (Android, Xamarin, Ionic Cordova, React Native). StayLinked SmartTE as well as Ivanty Velocity TEs are supported. Together with the enterprise-class PTT application by Zello, the mobile terminal can be used as walkie-talkie. The pre-licensed kiosk application SureLock by 42Gears enables the quick and easy implementation of restrictions on device and browser use.

The Datalogic Skorpio X5 handheld mobile computer was designed for challenging tasks. It is particularly sturdy and resistant against harsh disinfectants or industrial oils. The Skorpio X5 can withstand drops from 1.8 m to concrete. The housing is sealed against dust and water, complying with protection class IP65. Corning Gorilla glass protects the touch screen. The terminal can be operated within a temperature range from -20 °C to +50 °C.

Wireless charging without failure-prone connectors eliminates costly maintenance. There is a version of the Datalogic Skorpio X5 handheld available with inductive fast charging technology. The standard model comes with pogo-pin connector and provides Ethernet connectivity within the charging cradle. Choose between a standard 3500 mAh or a high-capacity 6200 mAh battery. For a non-stop use of the heavy-duty terminal, the rechargeable battery is hot-swap enabled and can be changed without shutting the device down.
