DATALOGIC POWERSCAN PM9500: Rugged Handheld Barcode Reader

The handheld barcode scanner PowerScan PM9500 by Datalogic is suitable for various environments. Due to its robust construction, it can be used for manufacturing and warehousing applications as well as for transport and logistics and other industries, where sturdy, reliable devices are required. The PowerScan PM9500 is easy to use, with a clear aiming function and omnidirectional reading capabilities. Its outstanding decoding abilities include 1D and 2D barcodes. Even very wide or dense codes can be read without a problem. 3 green lights and a beeper give the operator good-read confirmation. The barcode reader comes with an ergonomic design for convenient use during a whole work shift.

The Datalogic PowerScan PM9500 provides excellent networking capabilities. STAR cordless system enables wireless communication via narrow-band radio (433 MHz and 910 MHz). Optionally, the mobile barcode reader can be equipped with a display and either 4 programmable function keys or a 16-key keypad, allowing 2-way communication with the host. Up to 32 scanners can be connected to one single base station. It is possible to transmit data point-to-point or point-to-multipoint.

Reliable, even in challenging surroundings, the Datalogic PowerScan PM9500 complies with protection class IP65 and is sealed against the ingress of dust and water. The solid device can withstand drops from a height of up to 2.0 m. It is equipped with a powerful, long-lasting battery. Scan window, cradle contacts and battery are user-replaceable. Multiple interface options ensure uncomplicated integration: RS-232, keyboard wedge, USB, RS-485; optional: standard or industrial Ethernet.
