CIPHERLAB RS36: Versatile Handheld with Barcode and RFID Capturing Capabilities

Mobile computer for versatile applications: Thanks to its modern Qualcomm octa-core processor, the CipherLab RS36 is ideally suited for business applications. It is equipped with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. Additionally, a MicroSD card can be used to expand the storage capacity by up to 2 TB. The Android 12 operating system is upgradeable to version 14. The handheld RS36 is Android Enterprise Recommended (AER) certified. It can be managed via cloud applications.

Barcode and RFID capture: The PDT RS36 is available either with a scan engine for close-range applications (SE4770) or with a scan engine for an extended scan range of up to 12 m (SE5500). You can choose just the right scan engine for your field of application. In retail or parcel delivery, data capture at short range is usually sufficient. For applications in the warehouse, barcodes may need to be captured from a longer distance. An integrated RFID reader additionally enables HF RFID tags to be captured and encoded. A UHF RFID handle is also available as an option. It can be used to capture UHF RFID data at a read rate of 900 tags per second. The RS36 supports optical character recognition (OCR).

Multi-touch display: The convenient 5.5-inch touchscreen can be navigated with the finger. It can also be used with gloves and when the surface is wet. It is protected against scratches and breakage by Corning Gorilla Glass. Even in very bright ambient light, the display is easily legible due to its brightness of up to 630 nits. The handheld data terminal is therefore perfectly suitable for outdoor applications.

Cameras: The 16-megapixel rear camera enables the capture of high-resolution photos. The phase detection autofocus (PDAF) adjusts the focus in a flash. The 5-megapixel front camera is ideal for video calls.

All-weather design: In everyday workflows, it happens from time to time that devices are dropped or exposed to moisture, heat and cold. Due to its rugged design, the RS36 handheld data terminal is optimally protected. It can withstand falls from a height of 1.5 m and even from 1.8 m with rubber boot (accessory option). It is sealed against the ingress of dust and water according to protection classes IP65 and IP68. The operating temperature ranges from -20 °C to +50 °C.
