CIPHERLAB RK26: Handy Data Terminal for Retail and Warehousing

Made for retail and warehousing: The portable computer RK26 from CipherLab weighs only 292 grams. It has a handy, slightly narrower shape towards the bottom. There are recesses on the back, which provide a good grip and ensure that the terminal can be operated well with one hand. The RK26 is equipped with a numeric keypad to facilitate data input. It is available with either 25 or 28 keys. The 4-inch touchscreen is particularly scratch-resistant thanks to Gorilla Glass. Because of its high-brightness display of up to 500 nits, the handheld is suitable for outdoor use even in bright sunlight. The RK26 has a high drop resistance (1.5 m or 1.8 m with rubber boot) and can withstand cold and wet conditions. It is sealed against the ingress of dust and water in accordance with protection class IP65. The temperature range is from -20 °C to +50 °C.

Barcode scanner tailored to the application: Efficient data capture is an important factor to improve processes in retail and warehousing. Depending on the application field, a suitable scan engine can be selected. There are three options to choose from. The SE4750SR standard-range scan engine enables 1D and 2D barcodes to be captured at close range up to 92 cm. The SE4750MR mid-range imager reads barcodes and QR codes from a distance of up to 6 m. If barcodes need to be captured from a greater distance, for example in large warehouses or upper shelves, then the SE5500 advanced-range scanner is the ideal solution. It enables barcode capture from a distance of over 9.2 m. As option, the RK26 is also available with a slightly downward tilted scanner (70 degrees) which may be more convenient for some applications. The mobile computer is also equipped with a 16-megapixel rear camera. Both the scan engine and the camera enable optical character recognition (OCR).

Improved efficiency with RFID: The CipherLab RK26 PDT can be attached to a UHF RFID handle (accessory). It enables RFID data collection at a read rate of over 700 tags per second and over a distance of up to 8 m. RFID capture contributes to a significant increase in efficiency, for example in goods receiving and warehousing.

Powerful processor and wireless connectivity: The Qualcomm 4290 octa-core CPU ensures fast data processing and smooth use of business apps. The RK26 mobile terminal provides 4 GB RAM and 64 GB flash. Storage can be expanded by up to 2 TB using a microSD card. The RK26 handheld data terminal is “Android Enterprise Recommended” (AER) certified. It runs Android 12 which can be upgraded to version 14. The RK26 is equipped with Wi-Fi 6 and can be additionally equipped with 4G (2 x NanoSIM or 1 x NanoSIM/1 x eSIM) and GPS as option. The RK26 comes with Bluetooth 5.1 and NFC. It has a USB-C port.

Device management and software: The cloud-based software tool ReMoCloud makes it easy to configure, monitor and manage the RK26. The handheld terminal is also compatible with third-party software solutions such as SOTI MobiControl, VMware Workspace ONE and Wavelink Velocity.
