BARTEC BCS 3600ex-IS SERIES: Unmatched Scanning Performance Suitable for Hazardous Areas

With the BCS 3600ex-IS series, BARTEC provides industrial-grade barcode scanners for highest requirements. The rugged devices are suitable for warehouses, factories, seaports, airports and other rough environments. They are designed for indoor and outdoor use, particularly for explosion-endangered areas. The handheld scanners are certified for Ex zone1 or 21. Because of their extremely durable construction, they can withstand drops from a height of up to 2.4 meters and they are sealed against the ingress of dust and water in accordance with protection class IP65.

Reliable data capture at the first go enhances process efficiency. The BARTEC BCS 3600ex-IS series’ scanners ensure accurate data collection even if the barcode is damaged, stained, poorly printed or under shrink wrap. They enable the capture of 1D and 2D barcodes from paper or display and support OCR. It is possible to capture up to 20 barcodes at a time or to select single barcodes on a pick list. They perform with high precision and speed, improving productivity and eliminating delays.

Point-and-shoot simplicity, an ergonomic design and a convenient display at the top ensure uncomplicated operation of the BCS 3600ex-IS series’ hand scanners. Zebra’s software tools and Intelligent Imaging Technology also contribute to the user-friendliness of the scanner series. They enable, for example, remote configuration, firmware upgrades and data formatting and provide management tools.

The model BCS 3608ex-IS is the corded version of the BCS 3600ex-IS series. It is ideal for stationary applications. The BCS 3678ex-IS version comes with Bluetooth. For a secure data transmission from hazardous areas to a host device, the scanners can be connected to a supply module. The Universal supply module provides USB-SPP and serial connectivity options for the connection to a host PC. The Ex i supply module additionally enables the connection to an HMI, a PLC or a microprocessor.

The Bluetooth version BCS 3678ex-IS by BARTEC comes with Bluetooth Low Energy 4.0 Class 1, offering a radio range of up to 100 m. Because of the convenient scan2pair function, the device can easily be connected. The display always shows the current Bluetooth status. Zebra’s WiFi-friendly mode ensures that the Bluetooth connection does not interfere with the existing WiFi network. Up to 7 devices can be connected to the optional base station. The BCS 3678ex-IS barcode scanner is equipped with a replaceable Power Precision+ battery which is constantly monitored. Battery status is shown on the display. For the use in potentially explosive areas, the BCS 3678ex-IS can be connected to a supply module or to other Bluetooth-enabled devices that are suitable for Ex zones, such as the BARTEC Agile X IS industry tablet computer. The Bluetooth hand scanner BCS 3678ex-IS provides a batch mode with a capacity of about 500 codes.
